Wondering what is the best long range drone with camera? You’re in luck, we have done the research for you, and provide a great list below, so you can find the perfect copter to meet your budget. Along with transmitter range, there are other very important specs to consider.
The first is max speed. Speed is important because if you need to get to a location of up to 4+ miles away, you need to get there and back on one battery. Even if you get a drone with good range, what good does it do if you need to come right back or can’t even reach its max distance? Also, ensuring it has good speed is important because that extra power will help you fight against potential head winds.
The products listed have some great technology and can be quite expensive, you don’t want to end up losing one of these great products because you ran out of battery juice.
The second thing to consider is battery life, as we said before it can take a long time to get out to the max range of these drones, you want to make sure you have enough battery life left when you get to your destination to look around and capture the perfect shot. Check out the table below to compare specs.

The MJX Bugs is one of Mei Jia Xin Toys newest quadcopters, and the first released by the company to be equipped with brushless motors.
This is one of the few cheap long range drones on our list, but don’t count this quadcopter by MJX out.
It has an estimated flight time of about 20 minutes without a camera attached, and about a 15 minute flight time with a camera and its landing gear system.
It does have a significantly lower max range of 300-500 meters, but you have to remember it is about 1/10th the price of most the drones on this list.

So, if you wanted to not use the drone and just take very stable photos and videos by hand, this would be a good option.
There are many ways people are using Karma, if you’re a die hard GoPro fan this might be the perfect long range quadcopter with camera for you.
I say that because if you already have a GoPro, you can just buy the rest of the package for a lot less.
Well, you can at least subtract out the price of a Hero 5 GoPro…
It does have some cool flight modes and a great compact design.
The UAV easily fits into its great carrying case, which is included with the drone and has a low profile, so you can take with you without hardly even noticing it’s there.
The controller is also something that’s very unique. GoPro designed it after a gaming controller, so it would have a familiar feel to new flyers.
They wanted anyone to be able to pick up Karma and capture the fun things they were doing.
It does have a 4k HD camera, estimated battery life of 20 minutes, and control range of 3000 meters, which is just under 2 miles.

It is very easy to connect your own gimbal and camera.

How can you use parabolic range extenders to increase transmitter signal strength and increase drone range?
There are copper parabolic antenna signal range boosters you can attach to the controllers of many popular drones on the market. How do we know they work?
Well, using a signal strength detector its easy to detect the difference between the signal strength with or without the range extender connected to the controller, so we know for a fact that they do work.
They are super easy to install, all you have to do is slide the parabolic reflects over your controller’s antennas.
There are many good ones available, especial for DJI UAVs or other popular products on the market.
